Richnow LifeStyle Transitions provides furniture and other household items to those living under the umbrella of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County.
In 2008 Sheree began asking her clients if they would be willing to donate some of their new, unused items to support a vision she called "Holiday House." Her clients enthusiastically and generously donated thousands of items to the cause.
In 2008 LifeStyle's warehouse was dressed up to look like a beautiful store. In 2009 the warehouse wasn't big enough to host the event, so thanks to Tommy Ciccarone we were provided a vacant space in West Chester for the event.
In 2008 over 100 people were provided for, then in 2009 that number increased to 150, and in 2010 over 300 shared in the joy of Holiday House.
Over 30 Christmas trees of all sizes complete with lights and ornaments were given away. These are people just like some of us who have experienced great loss and abuse in their lifetimes.
Please share in some of the heartwarming notes we received.
"Dear Sheree,
Thank you for the amazing Holiday House event! My children were able to pick out gifts that would otherwise be unavailable to them. You have really made our Christmas a happy one. Thank you and God bless."

"Thank you so much for inviting me and my son to the Holiday House. It really means so much to me that there are people like you who think of us and how we can make the holiday special for our children. So, you made my holiday by having this event so my son can wake up on Christmas morning to gifts." Love, Mom + 1
"Me and my sister would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We have been though a lot of abuse in our lives. You helped us to fix up our homes. We both have old, worn furniture but the king-sized sheets you gave us covered up all the holes, so now we aren't so embarrassed when people stop by. You are a blessing and I know God sent you to us! Thank you!"

"I just want to thank you for making my first apartment a beautiful one. Sometimes I sit in one of the chairs you gave me with my son in my arms watching my own TV. I know that none of this would have been possible without your help. My life has been full of abuse and want. Because of you my son and I have been given a good start at a better life."

"Thursday night I was at the DVCCC meeting saying I didn't want a Christmas tree and not feeling the holidays this year. Well after attending your Holiday House I am back in gear for the children and grandchildren. It is truly a blessing to have people in my life like you. My Christmas tree is beautiful that I received that day from your clients. I snuggle in the living room with my shawl and coffee watching my tree. Thank you."

"I would like to thank you for allowing me to attend Holiday House this year. It has helped me and my family tremendously. My daughter is four. I've been taking her to look at other houses to see their lights and displays. She's always amazed. So when I saw the snowman I thought it would be appropriate to have for my daughter. She loves it! This is the first time that we will be decorating our house, so the lighted wreath was a great touch. Thank you for the Christmas tree, it's beautiful!"

And one last testimonial from Dolly Wideman-Scott, CEO of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County...
"Dear Sheree,
On behalf of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County's Board of Directors, staff, and the survivors of domestic abuse we serve, I take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for your incredible generosity in once again creating and hosting "Holiday House" for our clients and their children. Please extend our thank you to your staff and volunteers as well - especially Santa! All of you have succeeded in making the holidays much brighter for those in need. It was a true privilege to witness the expressions of the attendees as they walked through the door.
It is through the ongoing generous support from individuals like you that we are able to continue to help many of these victims not only to meet essential daily needs as they overcome their situations of abuse, but also to help them become safe and self-sufficient. Together we can ensure that every victim of domestic violence in our community can find a safe refuge, someone to call for help, and the ability to live free of violence and abuse.
Thank you for helping to make this mission a reality. Sincerely,"
Dolly Wideman-Scott
Holiday House 2008 Silent Auction & Fund Raiser where they were able to raise $1,700 for The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, then in 2010 that number increased to over $7,000.
These events could never have happened if it weren't for our wonderful clients, friends and family.
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!
Special thanks to our friends and banking partners at Susquehanna Bank for their continued support.
Everything sparkled!
Many of our clients, friends and businesses donated great gifts for Holiday House. Everyone enjoyed tasty refreshments during the Silent Auction & Fund Raiser.

Just a small portion of what attendees were able to select from for the holidays.
Christmas and Hannukah cards were provided so attendees could express thanks and good wishes to friends and family members through Holiday House this year. Pretty cool!
